Maja Stark studied History of Art with French and Italian at Freie Universität Berlin and the Sorbonne IV in Paris.
Following her studies, she edited Handapparat, a series by the Research Group Picture Act and Embodiment published by Pablo Schneider at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Soon thereafter she started to work as editorial assistant at Deutscher Kunstverlag, Berlin. Since then, she is a freelance editor.
Maja Stark shared with Kerstin Germer responsibility for the coordination of publications by the Interdisciplinary Laboratory »Image Knowledge Gestaltung« until April 2018.
