Lilly Schaack first studied English and North American Studies and Protestant Religious Studies at Kiel University. She graduated in 2015 with a dissertation on historiographical metafiction in Kurt Vonnegut’s work. After studying at Durham University in the United Kingdom, she is now studying Protestant Theology at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, where she also works as a student assistant in the research unit led by Ruth Conrad in the Practical Theology department. Her interests include homiletics, biblical hermeneutics, feminist and intercultural theology, and religion and politics.

As a member of the theme class, she plans to examine postcolonial and feminist perspectives on Christian iconography.
