Johanna Lessing is pursuing a Master’s degree in Cultural Sciences from the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. She wrote her Bachelor’s thesis on applying literary theory and narratology for the analysis of exhibitions. Since then, she has maintained her focus on Museum and Object (Hi)stories. From 2013 to 2015 she took part in the project »Wissensdinge. Geschichten aus dem Naturkundemuseum« (Knowledge Things. Stories from the Natural Science Museum), a compilation of exemplary stories about collection pieces from diverse disciplinary, artistic, and personal perspectives, which were also published in a book bearing the same title. She has been one of the curators of the special exhibition »OROBATES. Re-animated after 300 Million Years« since 2015. This exhibition not only presents (scientific) knowledge, but also displays the negotiation processes, strategic maneuvers, and contexts involved in the production of knowledge. She is a student assistant in Interdisciplinary Laboratory’s Project »Mobile Objects«.
